The festival presents a diverse program with 65 films from over 20 African countries and the diaspora. Around 40 international guests, including directors, producers, and actors, will personally present their works and offer insights into their creative processes.
This year, the festival will also be held at new venues in Cologne in addition to the Filmforum NRW, events will take place at the Rex Kino, the Filmhaus Cologne, the OFF Broadway, the Lichtspiele Kalk, the KHM, and the COMEDIA Theatre.
The Africa Film Festival Cologne is the most important platform for African cinema in Germany. In a time of global upheaval and social debates about diversity and participation, it enables differentiated perspectives, promotes intercultural dialogue, and creates spaces for encounters.
